Meet Alex, the first Muppet to have a dad in jail. According to a Pew Charitable Trusts report, one in 28 children in the United States now has a parent behind bars -- more than the number of kids with a parent who is deployed -- so it’s a real issue, but it’s talked about far less because of the stigma.

Pour a few drops of your favorite essential oil on a handful of dryer lint. Put it on the floor and vacuum it up. Voila! Every time you vacuum, you will smell the lovely oil.

Circle of Love

I've been volunteering with a great group called Circle of Love.
We write letter to people in need of a pick me up through the mail.
Perhaps the recipient is ill, or a care taker, had a loss, is lonely, or something else.

It is a great treat write one letter a week to the same recipient for 3 months.

They do not have to write back and rarely they do but occassionally you get word back from the organizer that your letters are really being helpful to the recipient. And that's nice.

My Beautiful and Intelligent Step Mother showed me this householder cleaning trick: microwave the Dish sponge for one minute to kill the bacteria on the sponge!

*Warning! The sponge will be very hot; be careful!!!

Clean garbage mini landfills!

Saving clean plastic garbage from excessive packaging for sari little landfills project. These are made of cob: straw, clay, sand and inside are clean recyclable bottles with clean garbage stuffed in them. Super cool!
Spread the trash out into little useful benches etc :)
